Style the Perfect Camping Chic Bridal Ensemble

What do you need for a glamping bridal ensemble besides a plaid shirt and hiking boots? Incredible accessories, of course!

When you’re headed to the lake, mountains, or woods, you should style your outfit with stunning hair accessories that vibe with your theme. The trick is to select a design that will be elegant and eye-catching without adding too much formality.

So kick back, grab a cup of hot cocoa, and check out our top six suggestions for creating a beautiful camping chic bridal ensemble.

#1: Gilded Leaf Headband

Bel-Aire-Bridal-6683-1.jpg

Add understated glamour to your bridal outfit with a metallic leaf headband like 6683. Gold or silver rhinestone-encrusted leaves dress up your hair with stunning shimmer. Beautiful without looking too frilly, this natural design is perfect for the ceremony, reception, and beyond.

#2: Antique Metal Flowers

Bel-Aire-Bridal-6687.jpg

Want your wedding to have a slightly vintage feel? Style 6687 combines a trio of beautiful antique metal flowers in silver or gold with vintage-inspired rhinestone accents. Bold and wild, this captivating boho-chic design creates an enchanting accent for a woodland wedding.

#3: Twinkly Bohemian Halo

3-Bel-Aire-Bridal-6502-1.jpg

Maybe your idea of a perfect wedding includes a campfire reception and star-gazing. Light up your locks with celestial luminescence wearing twinkly bohemian chain halo 6502. Composed of glittering rhinestones, this design adds beautiful starlit sparkle and will make you feel like you’re over the moon.

#4: Dramatic Floral Wreath

36-BAB_6650

Flower wreaths aren’t just for garden parties. For a wilt-free design that will last as a romantic keepsake, a fabric flower halo like 6650 is the best way to go! Blooming roses with glittering rhinestone centers and natural-looking leaves create the perfect summer bridal headpiece.

#5: Stunning Rhinestone Halo

1-Bel-Aire-Bridal-6500-3.jpg

Give your ensemble a glamorous twist with a glittering halo like style 6500. Sparkling rhinestones set in beautiful silver filigree encircle your hair in a modern take on the bridal garland. Wear it with a foldover veil for a romantic ceremony, or style it alone for an eye-catching reception piece.

#6: Delicate Hair Vine

Bel-Aire-Bridal-KLK-photography-6642-2.jpg

Want to look effortlessly beautiful? For just the lightest suggestion of sparkle, flexible vine 6642 is the perfect choice. Winding metallic vines with delicate rhinestone sprays make you look like you’re wearing shimmering dewdrops in your hair. This whimsical design ties in the back on organza.

10 Ways to Beat Post-Wedding Blues

caucasian-happy-romantic-young--couple-celebrating-their-marria-000089210765_Medium

Married life is wonderful, isn’t it?

Well…the reality is that after planning one of the biggest days of your life, coming home and facing the bills can be a drag. The adjustment to husband and wife can be difficult, especially if you haven’t lived together before.

Take a breath and tell yourself it’s ok. Because it is.

Even though the engagement and wedding are over, your lovely life together is just beginning! Here are 10 things you can do right now to make your transition a bit easier.

Look-out-000048402144_MediumPlan Trips

The honeymoon kicks off your married life with an amazing bonding experience. Anniversary trips are similarly important because they give you time away to reflect on the past year and indulge in your love for one another. Even a staycation or weekend excursion will do! Dream up ideas for your one-year anniversary and beyond, so you’ll have events to look forward to.

Work

When you were in wedding-planning mode, maybe work didn’t matter much in your lifestyle. If you’re feeling stuck, taking a part-time job or new position can refresh your energy and invite different people into your life. You’ll have professional projects to tackle and a whole new perspective. (Plus if you’re stressed about money, the income will help.)

Meditate

Speaking of perspective, take time to think seriously about your life. Examine the big picture: your plans, dreams, and desires. In order to maintain a healthy relationship, you should still pursue personal goals. Being married is about building on your individual identity by adding your role as a wife—not substituting one for the other.

Get a Hobby

Feeling bored? Take up an old hobby that you haven’t had time for since before the wedding, or cultivate a new interest! You can get crafty, take up a sport, or volunteer. Sell stuff on Etsy. Write book reviews. Start a knitting circle or take dance lessons. Get involved in blogs and groups, so you’ll have a community of new friends to support your efforts.

beautiful-caucasian-couple-just-married-000092731329_Medium

See Friends

Now that you’re back and settled in, it’s a good time to connect with friends! Let them know how your honeymoon was, and ask about their recent endeavors. Hanging out with a diverse circle of people will keep you from getting stuck in a rut, so make plans to go out regularly. You can also reach out and reconnect with family you haven’t seen in a while.

Journal

Let’s be clear: if you experience any physical or emotional abuse, you should immediately seek help. But if you are just frustrated and feel like ranting to your friends and family about petty problems, reconsider your approach. Why bad-mouth the person you want to spend the rest of your life with? Instead, write it down. You can vent without damaging the relationship you’ve built up.

First-kiss-000052300582_Medium

Work Out

Slacking off? Don’t let the careful beauty/exercise regimen you did before the wedding vanish! Start your marriage off right by being your best, healthiest self. Join a gym or keep a schedule to avoid burnout. You can even mix it up by doing some workouts alone and some with your partner! Both of you will feel better with regular activity.

Take Classes

Maybe at this point of your life, you’ve decided you want to save up for a house or a child. With two of you contributing, you hopefully will have more resources to pay off debts, build your savings, and further your educations. Prepare for the future. Figure out where you want to go and what tools you’ll need to get there.

Adopt a Pet

If you both love animals and are ready for another commitment, adopting a pet adds fun to your life and gives you practice caretaking. You’ll be amazed at how much a dog or cat will transform your daily routine! Not your style? Try out fish, birds, or other animals. If you already have pets, you can take hikes/walks or sign up for training classes.

Talk a Lot

You’ll both need time alone. But the whole point of being married is that you get to be together, so take advantage of it! Get help and talk to your partner if you’re feeling anxious. While you can’t expect him/her to fix all your issues, you can have a conversation and work together to improve the situation. Communication is your biggest ally.

Two-people-in-love-000064382517_Medium

Still struggling? Sometimes seeing a counselor or neutral third party is the best way to figure out what is bothering you and how to move forward. Remember that you are responsible for your own happiness, so use your resources. Treat yourself the way you’d treat someone you love.

For boho-chic, glamping, or rustic wedding themes, your styling options abound. No longer are brides limited to strapless ball gowns and high heels.

In fact, once you’ve chosen a comfortable dress you love (that’s right, we said comfortable), all you have to do is add a few special accessories, and presto! You’ll look and feel like a bride—without boning, pins, body tape, or corsets.

The Floating Petals

The Simple Trim

V7303-KLK-Photography-Bel-Aire-Bridal.jpg

V7303

For a look that is blissfully simple, a cascading ribbon edge veil will do the trick. This design features rounded corners and a waterfall of tulle that floats down to fingertip length. Especially if you’re hosting a wedding weekend with multiple events, this style is perfect to throw on for the actual ceremony.

The Breezy Foldover

V7234-Bel-Aire-Bridal.jpg

V7234

Want that picture with a beautiful long veil blowing in the breeze? If you love the dreamy appeal of a bridal veil, this cathedral is perfect. A sheer foldover design floats behind you in a cloud of tulle. You can wear the top tier over your face or behind you—both looks are incredibly romantic.

The Sparkly Hair Vine

Bel-Aire-Bridal-6628.jpg

6628

Weave an enchanting spell with a gorgeous, glittering hair vine. This lovely, flexible design features shimmering opal crystals or rhinestones and can be worn as a headband or woven into your hair. Perfect for styling a creative boho-chic look with a smidge of sparkle, this vine secures on organza ties.

The Metallic Leaf Headband

The Floral Half Halo

Bel-Aire-Bridal-6571-1.jpg

Bring on the flower power! Grace your hairstyle with a beautiful tie headband of soft organza flowers and rose buds. Embellished with subtle lace details and sparkling rhinestone accents, this ethereal design touches your tresses with bridal romance. The semi-flexible band ties on sheer organza.

Plan the Ultimate Bohemian Wedding

If you’re a bohemian bride, you probably don’t care much for mundane details. What type of tuxedo should your groom wear? Pass. How many tables should you rent? Snooze. What color do you want the linens? Wait, there are linens?

Yup, there are linens. But don’t worry, some aspects of the ceremony/reception are actually fun to plan! Read on for 10 easy ways to create your own boho-style wedding bash.

book an outdoor venue

Have you always dreamed of a wedding on the beach? Maybe your wish is to say I do in a secluded forest, or exchange vows beneath a sprawling oak tree in a meadow. Keep the size of your wedding and preferred style of gown in mind when choosing a place. Plan ahead for the weather!

choose a theme

Your theme ties everything together. You can use coordinating colors as a generic wedding theme (the traditional choice), or you can go with something more personalized. Great boho-friendly styles include the beach, astrology, an enchanted forest, a midsummer’s dream, or a celestial theme.

plan the party

Give your guests something fun to do! Popular activities include photo booths, drink mixing stations, yard games, or outdoor excursions. Be sure to offer multiple options, especially if you’re stretching the celebration over a weekend. Get creative and provide interesting entertainment.

Two-people-in-love-000081639665_Medium

write your own vows

It’s best to write or choose vows with deep meaning. Your relationship is unique; the words you use to make this commitment should be personal. Put thought into this and show your future spouse exactly how you feel. Reflect your heritage. Express yourself.

include crystals & natural stones

For your décor, you can choose meaningful crystals and stones to reflect your feelings. Stones make beautiful and interesting centerpieces, place cards, or even invitations! You can send guests home with their own crystals and/or gift your bridesmaids with natural stone jewelry.

Boho-bouquet-000092140463_Medium

use flowers

Flowers are a lovely finishing touch. For a boho ceremony, a cascading bouquet with wild flowers looks gorgeous. You can wear a natural floral crown, a fabric flower headband, or even a gilded halo. Floral prints for bridesmaids’ dresses are big this year! Play off the natural beauty of your surroundings.

be eco-friendly

Every wedding should be eco-friendly, don’t you think? Use local, seasonal flowers or potted plants for your décor, and shrink your ecological footprint. Send digital invitations. Ask guests to carpool. Let the flower girls scatter biodegradable confetti. Give favors that people can grow, eat, or re-use.

post quotes

Incorporate extra-special meaning into your wedding by displaying your favorite quotes from poets, novelists, philosophers, or even movies! Some couples hang banners; others print quotes onto table cards or make a custom aisle runner. Invite your guests to reflect on the nature of life and love.

Wedding-decoration-Dream-catchers-000093475547_Medium

create reception magic

Host your reception at a site with campfires. Roast s’mores, drink, and be merry until the sun comes up! Provide space heaters or blankets if it will be chilly; glow stick or lanterns are helpful if there won’t be much lighting outside. Watch the stars, discuss the phases of the moon, and enjoy the night.

5 Nontraditional Engagement Ideas for Bold Souls

Engagement-ring-with-blue-gem-000084490375_Medium.png

Getting engaged is a milestone. This moment should be captivating and romantic. And these days, a proposal should be personalized.

If the idea of a traditional engagement with rose petals and candles doesn’t suit you (or her), we’ve got a few suggestions that are off the beaten path.

A Unique Ring

This one’s obvious. Departing from a sparkly diamond is a bold move that should only be tried if your partner is absolutely sure she doesn’t want a traditional ring. This article by the Art of Manliness has a wonderful list of alternatives including birthstone rings, Claddagh rings, and artistic metal rings.

The benefit of a non-diamond is that is holds unique meaning for you both, quite apart from the act of getting engaged. It can be a stone that is special to her or an heirloom from your family.

A Conversation

Proposals are getting very showy. Men are hiring professional proposal gurus, photographers, and videographers to capture the big moment. They’re planning surprise parties, scavenger hunts, and vacations to make the whole day/weekend special. They’re going viral.

The elaborate proposal is definitely memorable. But if that’s not your style (or hers), consider having a conversation. More people than you’d think are ditching the hijinks and simply discussing their expectations for the future. The bonus is that you can pick out jewelry together and announce your plans in a way that is mutually acceptable. No need for surprises here.

She Proposes

That’s right, gender equality speaking here. Why should the man decide it’s time to get engaged? While it is traditional for men to propose, that doesn’t mean women have to sit around and wait.

A woman can absolutely propose. In fact, many jewelers offer attractive men’s rings. The risk is that her guy might not be ready for this commitment, if he hasn’t proposed himself. But if the relationship is solid and bucking convention won’t scare him off (mind you, most modern women want a guy who respects their independence), then she can take the plunge. Besides, wouldn’t you enjoy a proposal themed to your interests?

No Rings

People have been proposing with rings since ancient times because the circle symbolizes eternity. Wedding bands are typically worn on the third finger of the left hand, as it was once believed that a vein in that finger led straight to the heart. Rings carry important cultural symbolism—they show everyone that you’re taken—but they’re also a rather cliché, expensive part of getting engaged.

If the gesture matters more to you than the item, consider an alternative to rings. This could be a gift such as a watch or necklace, or something more creative like picking out stars together. If you have practical sensibilities, why not put the money towards a house? And if you’re really sure, you can get tattoos around your fingers (or elsewhere).

Propose with Their Favorite Thing

Who wants a cookie-cutter proposal at a fancy restaurant with a ring dropped in champagne? Very few people born after 1985.

Personalized proposals don’t necessarily mean social media extravaganzas. Dig deep and find out what makes your partner tick. Choose a very special location and include their favorite interest, activity, hobby, or food. Acknowledge your personalities, express your quirky likes and dislikes, and honor all the good times that have made your relationship special.

Play with Fireworks

Lots of people play with fireworks on the Fourth of July, but how many get amazing photos? Hire a photographer and head to an area that allows fireworks. You can use sparklers to write your names, draw hearts, and make amazing shapes that will show up on film. This activity is super fun and creates fantastic engagement photos.

Attend a Fair

Most cities host 4th of July fireworks, craft booths, food festivals, or fairs. Find out what is in your area and make a day of it! Go out together and enjoy the ice cream, pie contests, barbecue style food, and shopping. When you start to wind down, grab a blanket and a good spot to see your city’s nighttime fireworks display.

Americans-000034445254_Medium.jpgGrab a Show

Tired of the same fireworks year after year? Raise the bar and head to a new venue! To keep it casual, you can check out an amphitheater, sports arena, or outdoor space that sets off fireworks with patriotic music. For a more sophisticated twist, buy tickets to the opera or orchestra for a high-class night out.

American-Flag-000079107629_Medium.jpg

Give Some Bling

Are you ready to declare your independence from the single life, and join the happily engaged crowd? Once the fireworks start shooting off, cuddle up with your sweetie and enjoy the show. Then, for the grand finale, pull out the ring and pop the question! Make sure you hire a professional to take the photos, so you get everything from her reaction to the fireworks in clear, perfect detail.
